Cash disappears from armored truck at Jefferson Mall
The money went missing around 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to LMPD.

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - It’s a mystery surrounding an armored vehicle, Jefferson Mall and missing cash.

WAVE 3 News has confirmed the Louisville Metro Police Department began investigating Wednesday afternoon after getting a call around 3 p.m.

According to LMPD, the armored truck was parked near the new Round 1 Bowling and Amusement entertainment center. That’s when the missing money was discovered.

Police said they do not who is possession of the money.

A manager at Round 1 told WAVE 3 News employees did not notice anything suspicious. They also said they do not have a camera pointed towards the location where the truck was parked.

LMPD said the amount of missing money is still undetermined.

As of Wednesday night, they could not confirm if they have any persons of interest.

When asked about the incident, Jefferson Mall officials provided a statement about mall security.

“Our security program is active 24/7, 365 days a year, both inside and outside the mall, with measures that are visible to shoppers and some that are not,” Sarah Enlow, the mall’s Marketing Director, said.
