LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Steven Enoch scored the Cards first 10 points and finished with a career-high 16 in an 86-41 win over Central Arkansas on Wednesday night at the KFC Yum! Center.
He hit 7-10 from the field and added a career-high 9 rebounds.
“We wanted to establish him inside,” UofL head coach Chris Mack said. “We felt like we had an advantage on the interior and when you get Steve going, it causes teams to double and crowd the lane and that opens up your perimeter shooting.”
Jordan Nwora was also 7-10 from the field, but hit all four of his three-pointers for a game-high 21 points, and V.J. King was aggressive attacking the rim on his way to a season-high 17 point effort.
“He put his head down and got to the spot that he wanted,” Mack said. “I thought he played violently, which is a good thing for us and you know we need V.J. to play that aggressive all the time.”
King provided the highlight of the game when he skied over the Bears DeAndre Jones for a one-handed follow slam of a Khwan Fore missed jumper.
Jones came in averaging 14.7 points a game, but was held to just two of 1-for-7 shooting.
UofL improves to 6-2 and takes a three-game winning streak to Indiana (7-2) at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in Bloomington.
