(WAVE) - A man accused of placing pieces of broken glass in disposable drinking cups has been sentenced to five years in federal prison.

Waylon Horton pleaded guilty this year to tampering with consumer products at Dart Container in Horse Cave, Ky., two years earlier.

Dart Containers stopped distribution, finding broken glass in seven boxes, in addition to the glass found at fast-food restaurants.

Glass shards were found in cups at restaurants in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. No serious injuries were reported.
