LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A parent of a Jefferson County Public Schools student is suing the district claiming her son’s assault was covered up.
The suit, filed by attorney Shaun Wimberly, stems from an incident in the Central High locker room in November 2017.
Sydney Jenkins claims her son was assaulted by another football player before a game. She says he was taken to the hospital with a concussion while the other teen was allowed to play in the game.
Jenkins believes the coaches tried to cover it up, and never reported the information to the principal.
She’s suing JCPS for pain and suffering, and medical and legal expenses.
It’s the second time this attorney has sued the district this month.
Last week, he sued the school and its coaches claiming his own son was humiliated and driven off the football team.
