#1 Bellarmine used a 38-10 run to take control and defeat #12 Barry (FL) 90-67 on Tuesday night.
The Knights hit 16 of their 27 first half field goal attempts, a scorching 59% and shot 56% for the game (29-52).
Alex Cook and Chivarsky Corbett each scored 14 points and Ben Weyer added 13. Trinity grad Daniel Ramser finished with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks. All-American Adam Eberhard had 8 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Eberhard is still chasing an elusive triple-double.
The Knights improve to 8-0, with all eight wins by double digits.
“I asked the three captains their favorite moment of the night, and they each had different takes, all about team oriented things, and then they were all made liars within one second, the door opens and Patrick McSweeney walks into our locker room,” Bellarmine head coach Scotty Davenport said. “Incredible night of basketball for us at both ends.”
The Knights are back in action on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. hosting Northern Michigan. Youth basketball players will get free admission if they wear their jersey or a Bellarmine camp t-shirt. Other tickets in the student section are $5.
