LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Children’t clothing retailer Gymboree is reportedly planning to close all 900 of its stores. The Wall Street Journal reports that Gymboree plans to file for bankruptcy by the end of the week.
Gymboree closed nearly 400 of its 1200 stores back in 2017, when it previously filed for bankruptcy.
There are two Gymboree stores in the Louisville area - at the Paddock Shops and the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass. There’s no word on when the stores would close.
The two other stores owned by Gymboree, Janie and Jack and Crazy 8, may avoid liquidation if the company can find a buyer.
