LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Splitting two games with ranked teams last week was good enough to keep the Louisville Cardinals from losing ground in the new AP basketball poll.

UofL held steady at No. 16; the Cards are one of only two ranked teams with seven losses. No. 20 Wisconsin is the other.

Louisville (17-7, 8-3 ACC) won at then-No. 11 Virginia Tech last week, but followed that with a narrow loss at Florida State on Saturday. The Hokies, after an 0-2 week, fell all the way to No. 22, while FSU moved up five spots to No. 17. The ACC placed six teams among the Top 25.

UofL welcomes No. 2 Duke (21-2, 9-1 ACC) to the KFC Yum! Center on Tuesday night. Clemson comes calling on Saturday.

With 10 straight wins, Kentucky held at No. 5 for the second straight week. UK blew out South Carolina and escaped Mississippi State with a narrow win. Like UofL, the Cats play twice at home this week.

No. 19 LSU visits Rupp Arena on Tuesday, and the game everyone has been waiting for between Kentucky and No. 1 Tennessee takes place Saturday, also at Rupp.
