Police, fire rescue dog stuck on Louisville roof

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - You’ve probably heard of a cat getting stuck in a tree, but what about a dog getting stuck on a roof?

Louisville Metro Police were recently called out to the 700 block of S. 43rd Street for a dog on a roof. When police arrived, they found a dog, sitting on the roof of an abandoned house with no way down.

The dog was stuck on the roof with no way to get down.

Officers called for help from Louisville Fire, but the dog wouldn’t come to them either.

As a last resort, responding officer Rose Fountain called Metro Animal Services. They were able to put their heads together, set a trap and wait for the dog to be rescued.

LMPD officers and a Metro Animal Services officer were able to rescue the dog from the top of the roof.
