FRANKFORT, KY (AP) - Gov. Steve Beshear has announced that grant money will be going out to 12 Kentucky communities to help with their 911 services. Beshear announced Tuesday more than $960,000 in grant money would be awarded out of a competitive grant fund. Beshear says the money should be used to upgrade equipment and approve reliability of 911 call centers across the state. Grant money is going to: Daviess, Jackson, Menifee, Muhlenberg and Whitley county fiscal courts. Grants are also going to Hopkinsville/Christian County, the Greenup County emergency communications center board, Boyd County/Regional Public Safety Communications Center, the cities of Henderson and Campbellsville, Johnson County E911 and the Carroll County 911 Board.
