Cardinals looking for chemistry against Bellarmine

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY (AP) - Rick Pitino is turning his Louisville basketball team into a chemistry experiment.

Pitino said he plans to try several different combinations on Wednesday when the Cardinals host Bellarmine in their final exhibition game.

Louisville looked sluggish at times in an 80-68 victory over Georgetown College, a game that wasn't decided until the final minutes. Pitino said he's not bothered by the performance, but is looking for more cohesion from the Cardinals, who will open the season for real on Nov. 17 against Arkansas.

The Cardinals expect a stern test from the Knights, who were ranked No. 1 in NCAA's Division II by several news outlets. Bellarmine is coached by former Louisville assistant Scott Davenport.
