OAK GROVE, KY (WAVE) – According to police in Oak Grove, KY, a female soldier stationed at Fort Campbell has been killed by her husband in an apparent murder-suicide.
NBC affiliate WSMV-TV in Nashville reports the shooting happened around 2 p.m. CST (3 p.m. EST) at a house on Gail Street in Oak Grove in Christian County. The man called police and told them he had shot his wife. The man told police he would for an ambulance to arrive, but was found with a self-inflicted gunshot would when they got to the home.
The couple's two young sons, ages 4 and 6, were in the home at the time of the shootings. They were not injured.
According to police, the couple, whose names have not been released, had a history of domestic violence and were having financial problems.
