Posted: Updated:

SOMERSET, KY (AP) - Police in southeastern Kentucky have charged two people in connection with the death of a 72-year-old man found slain in his Somerset apartment.

Somerset police had earlier arrested 26-year-old Rafael Robinson of Science Hill and charged him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, driving on a suspended license, car theft and drug offenses.

Police said they found Homer Carrender dead when they went to his apartment to find out if he knew his car had been stolen. Police said Monday they have recovered a knife and steel pipe they believe were used in the killing and property taken from Carrender's home.

Robinson has been charged with murder and first-degree robbery. On Monday, police arrested 45-year-old Peggy Mina of Science Hill and charged her with complicity to murder and complicity to first-degree robbery.
