Louisville Woman Makes It To Final Episode Of 'Outback Jack'

By Connie Leonard

(LOUISVILLE, August 11th, 2004, 12:30 p.m.) -- Several weeks ago we introduced you to 21-year-old Natalie Franzman, a Louisville woman who landed a part on the TBS reality dating show "Outback Jack." She made it all the way to the final episode. Our Connie Leonard joined Natalie's family and friends at Damon's on Hurstbourne Lane to find out if she won Jack's heart.

When Natalie made it on Outback Jack, many folks thought she'd last a couple of weeks on the reality show that lured 12 pampered women to Australia -- only telling them at the last minute that they'd have to jump from a plane to meet Jack.

The reality was Natalie made it all the way to the end and became a big fan favorite. For weeks she has made america laugh with her antics in the outback. The self-proclaimed "Kentucky girly girl" admits she had a hard time with the heat, the bugs and the alligators.

Natalie, a hair stylist and Sacred Heart graduate, made us laugh when we discovered her famous squeal. Week by week, the number of women dwindled until last night's show, when there were only two Natalie and a Marissa -- the woman who became the show's villian.

In the last episode, the action moves from the Outback to the beach, and it's obvious there's no love lost between the ladies.

As the finale aired, Natalie was hundreds of miles away in California while her mom, Amelia, and other family and friends watched the outcome at Damon's. By phone she told us "I would have loved to be there with all my friends and family because so many people have supported me since the beginning."

But when it came to revealing the show's ending, Natalie wouldn't budge, not even for us. She did tell us, however, that she's glad she had the experience but, more important, she's excited the show's over so she doesn have to keep the Outback secret anymore.

So with Natalie on the phone with her mom, everyone finally found out: Jack picked Natalie, and the crowd erupted in cheers. Then Amelia read a thank-you letter from her daughter: "Thanks to all of you for all your support through all of this. I will never forget it. Who would have thought I could fall in love in the Outback. I can't wait to return with my man."

Natalie had to be in California along with the rest of the cast members to do interviews, but she also plans to make it her new home with her new boyfriend. She says she misses Louisville already. Amelia will be visiting Natalie in California soon.
