Lt. Norman Norris

(LOUISVILLE) -- A Louisville Metro Corrections officer has found himself on the wrong side of the law, facing charges of sexual abuse and incest. As WAVE 3 Investigator James Zambroski reports, law enforcement officials are taking special precautions because of the nature of the charges.
Lt. Norman Norris, a 36-year-old metro corrections officer, is charged with two counts of sodomy, one count of incest, and one count sexual abuse. He surrendered to police about 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The investigation began about a week ago when the alleged victim went to a family member and complained she was being abused. The family member took her to the hospital, and the hospital notified authorities, as required by law.
That's when officers from the LMPD Crimes Against Children Unit got involved. The Police Public Integrity is also involved since Norris is a city employee. He has worked with the corrections department for 8-1/2 years, and is now suspended without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.
Norris was booked and taken to an undisclosed facility for his own safety. He's set to be arraigned Wednesday morning.
Police are trying to see if there are other victims.
