(HODE, Ky.) -- Two men in the community of Hode in Martin County have a date in court August 31st after they killed each other's cats.
Twenty-year-old David May and 27-year-old Arlon White both kept cats at Ward's Trailer Court at Hode near the Kentucky-West Virginia border. Martin County Depty Sheriff Arthur Bowen says that last week May saw White's cat on his car. He knocked the cat off, went inside, got his rifle and shot the animal.
Bowen says White went to May's residence to demand an explanation and May told him it was because White wouldn't keep his cat off his property and "he was tired of it."
Bowen says White grabbed May's cat around the neck with both hands and choked it, then threw the body across a driveway. Bowen says White told May, "Now we're even."
A Martin district judge will determine if that's the case.
