Police seek leads on missing woman

LOUISVILLE (WAVE) -- Homicide detectives in Louisville have joined the search for a missing woman.

Police say Beth Layne Shreve was last seen in Louisville on May 29th. Her family members reported the 37-year-old mother missing to the Shelby County Sheriff's office. Deputies there contacted metro police.

We're told the LMPD homicide unit is involved because so many agencies are working the case. Officers say other circumstances also led to homicide detectives joining the investigation, but would not elaborate.

In a press release, LMPD Det. Phil Russell said that while the case is considered a missing persons case, the LMPD homicide unit has been assigned to assist in the investigation. Russell states is due to dual jurisdictions and "other circumstances surrounding this case."

Shreve is 5'4" and weighs 90 pounds. When last seen, she was wearing blue jean capri pants, a pink top and sandals. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Shreve is asked to call the LMPD crime tip line at 574-LMPD (5673).
