LOUISVILLE (WAVE) -- Actress and entertainer Jenny McCarthy, who attended the Barnstable Brown party last year, hosted her own soiree Friday night at the Frazier International History Museum in downtown Louisville. Our own Mark Schnyder was there along with another famous Kentucky native.
The event benefits the permanently disabled jockeys' fund. Money raised at Friday night's party will go to jockeys, their families and the racing industry.
The atmosphere was like a hip L.A. nightclub. The party was just getting under way when we stopped by and met former Miss USA Tara Conner, a Kentucky native.
Tara told us she loves going to the Derby. "It's breath-taking," she said. "It's one of the most amazing feelings to be there when everyone stands up and just coming together for one purpose, and it's a world of fun that's completely under estimated by so many people."
Connor says she's looking forward to the Derby but knows nothing about horse racing and likely won't place a bet.
