LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A worker was electrocuted Tuesday afternoon in an industrial accident at southwest Louisville plant.
MetroSafe Communications received a call shortly after 2 p.m. reporting a possible electrocution at the Citgo Petroleum plant at 4724 Campground Road. Emergency crews found a construction lift that was tangled in high voltage power lines.
The lift was tangled in the lines for several hours and Louisville Gas and Electric crews had to cut power to the lines before the lift could be moved and the worker's body recovered.
LG&E officials say the line was carrying 161,000 kilovolts of electricity, and that the worker was not an employee or contractor of the utility.
The victim's identity was not immediately released.
