Police ID suspect who used car to break into businesses

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Shively police have identified a suspect caught on surveillance video ramming his vehicle into three local businesses with the intent of stealing the portable ATM machines inside. Police are now looking for 37-year-old Keith Allen Robards.

Shively Police Chief Ralph Miller says burglar alarms went off at each of the businesses - JC's Cigarette Outlet at 2714 Crums Lane; Better Way Food Mart at 4001 Cane Run Road; and The Grocery Store at 2323 Rockford Lane.

When officers arrived, they found two businesses and the rear of the third business damaged.

Police say Robards is the man seen on video smashing his car into one of the businesses.

Robards is 5'10", weighs approximately 230 pounds and has black hair. Police believe he is driving a white 4-door Ford Escort or Contour.

All three burglaries happened Monday, January 5th between 2:25 a.m. and 2:50 a.m.
