Marlon Obando is an archaeologist and artist. Obando currently makes jewelry full time from his home and plays in a band called Appalatin. The band is a mixture of Latin and Appalachian influences. Obando has lived in Louisville for 11 years and was born in Nicaragua. Obando says over the past decade he has seen the Latino community grow in Louisville. “The Latino influence in the city will make it more beautiful,” Obando said.
