LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Metro police have finally been able to charge a suspect in a 2004 murder. Tuesday, a grand jury indicted Percy Brown for the murder of Jennifer French.

They believe Brown killed the 19-year-old French because she was going to testify against him in a check fraud case.

In August 2008, WAVE 3 ran a Louisville Law and Order story asking for your help with information in this case. Detectives say within the last couple of weeks, an eyewitness made the decision to finally come forward.

"I believe some of that could be the fear factor of what they saw happen to another individual, Mrs. French. That's always a concern when people come forward, they have somewhat of a fear factor," said Lt. barry Wilkerson, LMPD Homicide Unit commander.

Detectives say they believe Brown was the only person involved in shooting French. Police say Brown had been a suspect all along, but it wasn't until the eyewitness came forward that they had enough evidence to make the arrest.
