LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - He was just going to pick up dinner for his wife, now a Louisville man is recovering from being shot in the chest.

Louisville Metro Police say John Lannon was shot Tuesday night, November 3, when two men tried to rob him at Hancock and Broadway.

"I am sure it's going to be hard for him physically, I mean it has been hard on all of us emotionally and financially I am sure it will be hard too," said Craig Bruenderman, a co-worker of Lannon’s.

Lannon is expected to recover and should be moved out of critical care soon.

Lannon's co-workers are raising money to help out his family. They have collected about $4,500 so far. If you would like to donate, click on the highlighted link: John Lannon fundraiser.
