FORT KNOX, KY (WAVE) - The federal government is pumping $850 million into Fort Knox and now business leaders in southwest Louisville are hoping to cash in.
Because of BRAC, the Base Realignment and Closure Commission, thousands of new families will be moving to Fort Knox. Friday, dozens of people from the Southwest Dream Team spent the day touring the construction and expansion. They are hoping to convince some of those families to settle in south Louisville.
"We're trying our best to reach out to the folks at Fort Knox and let them know that southwest Louisville is a wonderful place to live, work and play and do business," said Robert Price, president of the Southwest Dream Team.
The Southwest Dream Team is a delegation of business owners who work to improve the quality of life in the South End.
