Driver sought in fatal hit-and-run

 LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A woman involved in a hit-and-run accident on Baxter Avenue Friday night has died from her injuries.

Deputy Coroner Eddie Robinson identified the victim as Nuril Papapietro, 37, of Goshen, KY.

According to LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley, the accident happened around 6:30 Friday night on Baxter Avenue and Rogers Street. The driver of a truck heading south on Baxter saw a Papapietro stumble and fall into the roadway, he was able to swerve and avoid hitting her but the vehicle directly behind his truck did strike her and continue south on Baxter.

She was transported to University Hospital where she died a short time later.

The car that struck Papapietro is described as a white or light colored 90's Pontiac transport van or crossover vehicle. The Pontiac may have sustained front end damage.
