LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The search for the driver that ran over and killed a Kentuckiana mother continues. Friday night, Dini Papapietro fell on Baxter Avenue after dropping off her daughter at a Gilda's Club event. Now friends are hoping tips will come in if people learn just a little more about the victim.
"These were the images that filled their lives," said Mallorie Burczyk, a family friend. "These are the images that were part of their family and it's really important that people know that she's not just a name on the news that she's a person."
Dini surrounded her family with bright colors, beautiful art and a big heart. Burczyk said Dini's interests were very broad and that her smile was contagious.
"She was always laughing always joking," said Burczyk.
Burczyk welcomed us into their home to share memories and to let us know how Dini's 11-year old daughter is dealing with the tragedy.
"Sela is only 11-years-old and that's her daughter and she's been doing really well for everything's that happened. She's a very strong little girl and I think she has her mother to thank for that," Burczyk said.
Four days after her death, there have no arrests and no suspects, but somebody out there knows what happened.
"Right now, there is a part of the Papapietro family that is missing forever they will never get that back," said Burczyk. "And if you are the friend or the family member that knows something and is not coming forward, you're keeping them from being able to move forward with these beautiful memories of her."
Police are looking for a white 1990's Pontiac van. If you have information call the LMPD Crime Tip Line at 574-LMPD (5673). All calls to the Crime Tip Line are anonymous.
