LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville man is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder and burglary, after police say he chased down his ex-girlfriend and shot at her. 26-year-old Matthew Young was arrested on June 11.

Police say he followed his ex-girlfriend to her house in the 10000 block of Trotters Trace. Arrest records say that Young entered the home and pointed a gun at the woman's mother and told her to lie down or he would shoot her. Young then allegedly chased the woman upstairs, shooting through a door. Louisville Metro Police says the woman escaped by jumping from the second story window of her home.

"He (Young) was very much out of control," said Dwight Mitchell, a LMPD spokesman. "Again, fortunately for the victim and the relatives in her home where he fired several shots to the house that no one was injured. His intent was very dangerous."

According to Metro Police, the woman and Young had been involved in a previous altercation that day.
