Man burned in meth lab explosion dies

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man suspected of cooking meth inside an Okolona apartment has died from his injuries.

Investigators says 29-year-old Joseph Lewis of East Barnstadt, KY, near London, was involved with the meth lab explosion early Tuesday morning at 6950 Leisure Lane.

Lewis was not at the scene when investigators arrived, but later showed up at Jewish Hospital Medical Center South. Lewis was transferred to University Hospital where he died at 5:16 a.m. Wednesday.

Another suspect is being treated at the University Hospital burn unit. Once released from the hospital, he will be charged with manufacturing meth.
