Operation Vests for Valor

GOAL: Raise $30,000 needed to purchase 16 New DELTA FIVE tm vests through the following series of fundraisers.

School Competition March 30 thru April 30
Charlestown and Silver Creek Elementary, Middle Schools, Junior High and Senior High grades 1 - 12 will compete to see which student can raise the most money for the "Operation Vests For Valor" program

Car Washes -Sat. April 4 and April 11, 10am-3pm,
Preferred Automotive, 7803 SR 311, Sellersburg, IN 47172, will sponsor a car wash fundraiser with the help Silver Creek Cheerleaders and other volunteers to raise money. 25% of the funds raised will be donated to the Silver Creek Cheerleaders for their efforts to the event and 75% goes towards the "Vests for Valor" campaign. Suggested car wash donation is $10 or more.

Basketball Play off with the SWAT Team Thursday, April 23 6pm-8pm
There will be a basketball game held at Silver Creek High School where either schools will have players assigned to play a game of basketball against the SWAT team.

$3 Admission fee and $2 raffle tickets sold during the game for $2 for a chance to throw a whipped cream pie at the officers at the end of the basketball game. All money from the raffle tickets and door will go towards the "Vest of Valor" campaign.

Road Blocks Easter Sunday, April 12 and April 19, 12n-6pm
Roadblocks will be set up in Charlestown and Sellersburg. All money collected during these roadblocks will go towards "Vests for Valor."

Location of roadblocks will be at the intersections of Hwy 3 and 403 in Charlestown and Hwy 60 and 311 in Sellersburg.

Donation Drop Off Locations   March 30 thru April 30,
Your Community Bank, New Washington State Bank and Preferred Automotive will be drop off locations for anyone wishing to make a donation. Net proceeds will go towards the "Vests for Valor" public service campaign.

The Leader and Clear Channel Radio (WAMZ, WHAS-AM, WQMF, WTFX, WLUE, WKRD-AM, and WZKF). PSA's will air promoting the events to create consumer awareness in support of the fundraiser and participating sponsors.

Final Collection April 28 
Money from each school and the student who collects the most will be rewarded with station prizes. Winning students will be photographed and placed in The Leader as their school's winner and on a Billboard with the Officers.
