Metro Corrections command officer fired

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Metro Corrections commander has been fired following allegations that he interfered with a criminal investigation.

Robert Dietz was relieved of his duties as a major within Metro Corrections last week. In his letter of termination, the Director of Corrections noted that Dietz had lied to him about communications Dietz had with another corrections officer regarding an ongoing domestic violence investigation.

It is alleged that Dietz called both Sergeant Ron Morris and Morris' attorney to warn them that officers were looking for Morris in order to serve him with a warrant.

Morris is on personal leave.
