LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville Metro Corrections sergeant has been cleared of sexual abuse charges.
For two years, Richard Johnson has lived under a cloud of suspension after he was accused of rape and sodomy. Johnson was arrested after a complaint was filed with the Metro's Crimes Against Children Unit. Monday, the charges against Johnson were dropped.
"I prayed a lot. My attorney there for me, my family you know I got a lot of people to thank now that all of this is over," said Johnson.
Since being charged, Johnson has been on unpaid administrative leave from Metro Corrections. A hearing is scheduled this week which will determine if the 16-year veteran can be reinstated.
