LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - One person was killed in the crash of two trucks Thursday afternoon on the Gene Snyder Freeway. The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes near the Old Henry Road and LaGrange Road exits.
According to Andrea Clifford with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, a KYTC truck was spraying herbicide around cable barriers in the northbound lanes near mile marker 31. The truck, equipped with flashing flights and an arrow board, was going about 8 to 10 miles per hour when it was struck from behind by a second truck.
The driver of the second truck was killed in the crash. The KYTC employee was taken to University Hospital to be checked. The names of neither driver have been released.
The Louisville Metro Police traffic unit is investigating the crash. Traffic on the Snyder northbound was closed. LMPD did not provide an estimate when the road would be reopened.
