Kentucky native Christie Dutton grew up in Jessamine County and is thrilled to be working in the Bluegrass State.
Before coming to WAVE 3, Christie worked as a meteorologist at WXIX, the FOX affiliate in Cincinnati, and WTVQ, the ABC affiliate in Lexington. She holds the National Weather Association Seal of Approval, the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval and the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal of Approval.
Christie is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from the University of Kentucky and earned a master's degree in geosciences and a certificate of broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University.
Christie is no stranger to the crazy weather of the Ohio Valley. She's covered everything from tornadoes to ice storms, but her favorite kind of weather is snow – and LOTS of it. "Six inches of snow can change everything," Christie says.
You can catch Christie's forecasts bright and early on WAVE 3 News Sunrise weekdays beginning at 4:30 a.m.
When she's not at work, Christie enjoys snow skiing, hiking, storm chasing and spending time with her family.
