Kentucky native Christie Dutton grew up in Jessamine County and is thrilled to be back in the Bluegrass. Before coming to WAVE3, Christie worked as a meteorologist at the FOX affiliate in Cincinnati and the ABC affiliate in Lexington. She holds the Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association (NWA), the American Meteorological Society (AMS), and the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) Seal of Approval.
Christie is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from the University of Kentucky and also holds a Masters Degree of Geosciences and a Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.
Christie is no stranger to the crazy weather of the Ohio Valley. She covered everything from tornadoes to ice storms, but her favorite kind of weather is snow... and lots of it. "Six inches of snow can change EVERYTHING!"
You can catch Christie's forecast bright and early on WAVE 3 Sunrise beginning at 4:30 a.m.
When she's not at work, Christie enjoys snow skiing, hiking, storm chasing and spending time with her family.
