PIKEVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Former governor Paul Patton says his goal as the new president of Pikeville College is to improve the education of residents in eastern Kentucky.
He started the job on Friday and got to working as soon as he got to campus.
He told WYMT-TV that the college is the most important institution in the region to build up the community and the culture.
He plans to work with all the colleges and technical schools in eastern Kentucky to improve education. He also said he will not take a paycheck for his position at the school.
