LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - WAVE 3 is getting results for a local family who were victims of the flood. We first introduced you to them on Friday and now, thanks to the amazing generosity of two WAVE 3 viewers, they got amazing results.
When we met Crystal Hall on Friday, she was out of options. At the time she said, "We just want to cry. I mean thank God we weren't displaced like everyone else ... but every little bit we have goes into this home."
Denied by FEMA for aid, she wasn't sure how she was going to replace all of the belongings of her ten year old son, Phillip, who lived in the flood destroyed basement bedroom.
Phillip said, "I've had to wear one outfit to school every day ... All my toys were destroyed and my bed, everything."
On Sunday, the Hall family's bleak outlook got a whole lot brighter. Two WAVE 3 viewers, who were total strangers and wanted to stay anonymous, showed up with two, hundred-dollar gift cards for Phillip.
He said, "I'm going to hopefully buy myself some new clothes for school and to play with my friends and then I'm going to buy myself a new pair of shoes and some more toys."
Crystal said, "You know, the economy is not really good right now, so that couple to do what they did, is great."
The results don't end there for the Hall family.
On Friday, we made several calls to the Salvation Army on their behalf.
As a result of those calls, Crystal Hall tells us she has an appointment to try and get help there Monday morning.
