Mother and son killed in multi-vehicle accident on I-65N

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Two people were killed Wednesday morning in a multi-vehicle crash in Bullitt County. It happened around 10 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 65, not far from Exit 117 to Shepherdsville.

Bullitt Deputy Coroner Morris Proffitt has identified the victims as 74-year-old Mildred Gregory and her son, 47-year-old Ronald D. Gregory. Both were from Shepherdsville.

They were killed an SUV traveling in the opposite direction crossed the median and struck the vehicle.

A woman from another vehicle was taken to the hospital, but police say her injuries did not appear life-threatening.

Both northbound lanes and one southbound lane were closed for several hours while police cleared the scene, tying up traffic for miles in both directions. They were reopened just before 1 p.m.
