MADISONVILLE, TN (AP) - A bag bearing a couple of names has led police to a drug bust.
Authorities found the remains of a methamphetamine lab in Monroe County creek on June 30.
County narcotics agent Conway Mason said the items he found included lye, glass jars with tubing in them and other meth evidence.
The Daily Times reported that among the trash was a plastic bag bearing the name of a child and the name of a school teacher.
Mason said his investigation found the mother of that child was Chancie Cruz of Tellico Plains, who said the writing and the bag belonged to her.
Mason charged Cruz with criminal littering and initiating the process to manufacture methamphetamine.
