LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man has been critically injured with burns over 70% of his body from a meth lab fire in his home.
Just before 10pm Saturday night firefighters were called to the scene of a house fire on Tyrone Ave, near Bashford Manor Mall.
According to Major Henry Ott of the Louisville Fire Department firefighters found a working fire in the bedroom of the home. John Robinson, 36, was the only one home at the time of the fire and investigators believe the explosion was due to a working meth lab in that bedroom. Robinson was taken to University Hospital where he was listed in critical condition Sunday afternoon.
Robinson lived at the residence with his mother who was not at home at the time of the fire, Ott said. Investigators from the LMPD narcotics department are assisting in the investigation.
