LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A head-on accident Monday night sent a Louisville Metro police officer to the hospital.
The crash happened around 8 p.m. at Taylorsville Road and Blankenbaker Parkway. Police say the driver of a white Ford F-250 was turning onto Taylorsville Road and said he swerved to avoid hitting a dog. The truck slammed head-on into an unmarked LMPD Ford Explorer.
The officer, who was off-duty, was taken to University Hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening head injuries. The truck driver was treated and released at the scene.
Police are investigating whether the pickup driver had any medical problems or if alcohol was involved.
