LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police have arrested five people in the murders of a mother and son Thursday afternoon on Tipsy Circle.

Twenty-nine-year-old Marcus Greene, 29-year-old Laquita Townsend and 33-year-old Zachary Kilgore are each charged with two counts murder in the deaths of 29-year-old Steve Wood, Jr. and his mother, 50-year-old Diana Wood.

According to arrest reports, Townsend accompanied her juvenile son to the Whispering Woods apartment complex in the 4600 block of Tipsy Circle around 5 p.m. on Nov. 12 and provoked an argument with residents there. Police say Townsend knocked on the door and lured the victims outside the home.

That's when Townsend, along with Greene and Kilgore allegedly assaulted two people and shot and killed Diana Wood and Steve Wood, Jr.

Dacica Greene, 26 - the wife of Marcus Greene - and 50-year-old Vickie Ramsey are charged with tampering with physical evidence for attempting to dispose of the gun used in the killing.

The arrest report states that when LMPD detectives went to a business owned by the Greenes at 219 S. Preston Street to arrest Marcus Greene, Dacica Greene placed the gun allegedly used in the murders in Ramsey's lunch bag.

As she was leaving the business, Ramsey was stopped by detectives and the handgun was found. Ramsey told police she had no knowledge of the gun being used in a crime and was cooperating with detectives.

In addition to murder, Marcus Greene, Townsend and Kilgore are all charged with assault. Marcus Greene was also booked on burglary, tampering with physical evidence, two counts of wanton endangerment, terroristic threatening and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Townsend is facing an additional charge of unlawful transaction with a minor. Kilgore, who police say is also a convicted felon, is charged with tampering with physical evidence.

The Greenes, Townsend and Kilgore were booked into Louisville Metro Corrections. Ramsey was issued a citation to appear in court on Dec. 9.
