ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (WAVE) - Six people were injured, one critically, when the car in which they were riding overturned several times along I-65 near Elizabethtown just before 10 a.m. Sunday morning.
Kentucky State Police say a 9-year-old boy was trapped under the vehicle, but someone who saw the crash was able to lift the vehicle enough to free the injured child, who was flown to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville with life-threatening injuries.
According to police, the driver of the car and four passengers - three of them children ages 5, 8 and 11 - were taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown for treatment of minor injuries. All were from Hopkinsville.
The driver was identified as 56-year old Henry Snorton, Jr. The only other adult in the car was 29-year old Adia Snorton.
Police say the car was merging onto I-65 north from the Western Kentucky Parkway when Snorton lost control coming around a curve.
