FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) – A Mercer County man caused a stir on April 1 when he brought a gun to a Rand Paul rally at the Capitol, but what Jim Fishback did was legal under Kentucky law.
Fishback will not be facing any charges because it is actually legal to have a gun inside the Kentucky State Capitol.
"[You cant] take away weapons from law abiding people [because] then it gives criminals free reign," said Fishback when asked about having his gun.
Fishback also said that some of those criminals are actually in the Capitol offices.
During the Paul Patton administration, guns had been been banned from the Capitol.
