Cattle farmer is celebrating birth of triplet calves

TERRE HAUTE, IN (AP) – An Indiana cattle farmer is celebrating triplets, not from his wife or daughter, but one of his cows.

A barnyard rarity in Vigo County, Fred Butts was stunned to find his eleven year old cow had given birth to triplets. Express Miss Pride gave birth to three triplet calves on March 30.

It's rarer then you think, triple births occurring only once every 100,000 births in cows. All three of the calves, two heifers and one bull, were born alive and veterinarian Bryan Wolfe says that is even more rare.
