Two Indiana teenagers killed in police chase

CARMEL, IN (WAVE) – Two Indiana teenagers are killed during a high speed chase with Carmel police Friday April, 9.

Police in the community north of Indianapolis said in a statement an officer tried to stop the car of three teenagers around 10:50 p.m. Friday, but the car sped away.

The officer was following in pursuit when the crash occurred. The car hit a utility pole causing it to flip over and catch fire. Two of the teenage passengers were killed, and the driver was hospitalized.

Carmel police are discussing possible charges on the driver with prosecutors.
