EVANSVILLE, IN. (AP) - A southwestern Indiana man faces murder charges for allegedly setting a house fire that killed his fiancee's two young children.
Thirty-4-year-old Jeffrey Weisheit was arrested Saturday in Covington, KY., on two counts of murder and one count of arson. He was taken to a Cincinnati, Ohio, area hospital for treatment after he fell when arresting officers shocked him with a Taser gun.
Vanderburgh County Sheriff Eric Williams says Weisheit has indicated to Kentucky authorities that he set the Evansville, Indiana, area house on fire early Saturday knowing that 8-year-old Alyssa Lynch and her 5-year-old brother Caleb Lynch were inside.
Weisheit shared the home with their mother, who was at work at the time of the fire.
