Crash involving sanitation trucks kills 1, injures 3

SELLERSBURG, IN (WAVE) – Emergency crews are on the scene of a deadly multi-vehicle crash on Highway 60 outside of Sellersburg. According to Major Chuck Adams of the Clark County Sheriff's Office, the crash involved five vehicles and happened just after Noon on May 6.

Adams tells WAVE 3 the vehicles were west on Highway 60 near Wilson Switch Road happened when a City of Jeffersonville sanitation truck did not realized that traffic ahead had come to a stop. The sanitation truck hit a teal-colored Ford. That started a chain reaction in which the Ford hit a flat bed trailer loaded with steel, the flat bed trailer hit a passenger car, which struck the rear of a another sanitation truck belonging to the Town of Clarksville.

The driver of teal Ford was killed in the crash. Three others, the two people in the Jeffersonville sanitation truck and the driver of the second car, where all injured and taken to University Hospital in Louisville for treatment.
