LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - From the decorations to the equipment, the Kosair Medical Center- Brownsboro is built just for kids.
The $50 million project at Old Brownsboro Crossing houses a pediatric emergency department with diagnostics, including everything from MRIs to cardiology services, and outpatient surgery too.
"We have equipment that is especially calibrated for kids,"said Charlotte Tipson, Vice President of the Kosair Medical Center-Brownsboro. "For example, our dental equipment."
By reducing patient numbers at Kosair downtown, wait times will reduce and medical care will be more accessible. The Emergency Room at the new medical center will be open 365 days a year. Opening day is Wednesday, May 26.
