LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE)- More than 100 General Electric workers are helping to rehabilitate a new facility for Volunteers of America.

The group is turning the old Red Cross Hospital, located at 1436 Shelby St., into a place for an inpatient substance abuse program. Volunteers of America said they couldn't do it without GE.

"This kind of project support is wonderful because we can't afford this," said Janie Burks of Volunteers of America.

Volunteers of America works across the United States to help people in need, ranging from senior living to housing projects.
