Indiana middle school students arrested for food fight

VALPARAISO, IN (AP) - Authorities say four middle school

students in Valparaiso were arrested on battery and disorderly

conduct charges after they were accused of starting a food fight on

the last day of school.

The food fight happened Wednesday at Thomas Jefferson Middle

School. The 14-year-old boys were released to their parents.

Police Sgt. Steve Jackson says he was asked by an assistant

principal to be in the cafeteria during lunch because of reports a

food fight might occur. Jackson said the food fight created a panic

in the cafeteria.
