LICK CREEK, KY (AP) - Police say 10 teenage students in eastern Kentucky are facing burglary charges for breaking into their high school.
The teenagers say they were not going to do any harm, and entered East Ridge High School in Lick Creek to play a prank.
WYMT-TV reports the students were charged with burglary and criminal mischief after the break-in Tuesday night. East Ridge student Aaron Robinson says he and a group of friends were attempting to hang up posters as part of a senior prank.
School officials say the students stole a key from a staffer to get inside the building.
Pike County Superintendent Roger Wagner says the students should be prosecuted, because taxpayers have "spent a lot of money on East Ridge."
The students are due in court June 29.
