BRANDENBURG, KY (WAVE)- A Veterans support group is the target of a fundraising scam in Meade and Bullitt counties. Kentucky State Police dispatchers tell WAVE 3 a person is traveling door-to-door in Brandenburg and Shepherdsville and requesting money from businesses on behalf of Rolling Thunder Incorporated.

The veterans non-profit organization serves homeless and disabled veterans and works to educate the public about the challenges faced by prisoners of war and soldiers missing in action.

Complaints allege that the suspect promised businesses would become a scheduled stop for an upcoming poker run if they made a cash donation according to dispatchers.

We're told Rolling Thunder Incorporated does not have a poker run scheduled and representatives said they do not go door-to-door asking for donations.

Anyone with information about this suspect is asked to contact Trooper Jeff Jenkins at Kentucky State Police Post 4 at 270-766-5978.
